Chess Tournament

Tournament is open to chess players in grades 8 through 12.
Rules: Swiss rules, 20 minutes for the timers. A player can lose if they run out of time before their opponent. The winner of each match receives one point, and a draw or stalemate gives half a point for each player. There will be at least 5 or 6 rounds. The school with the most points at the end of the final round is in 1st place. The school with second most points is 2nd place and the same goes with third. Teams can have a minimum of two players with no maximum because of the scoring metric; the top 4 scores will be used to decide the winning team. If a team decides to bring more than 5 players they should know that only the Top 5 Scorers on the winning teams will receive jackets. Tiebreaks may be used to determine the top winning teams.
Awards given to the top three schools.
